As part of your work at HIU, you will be involved in optimizing the lifespan of battery cells and developing models of aging. Your specific scientific tasks include: (1) Independent laboratory work on aging investigations of lithium-ion and sodium-ion battery cells (including commercial cells and self-built PAT and button cell laboratory cells) (2) Analysis of materials from new and aged cells (independently and in collaboration with other groups at HIU and ZSW) (3) Data analysis and derivation of aging mechanisms (4) Literature review and publication of results in peer-reviewed journals and at conferences (5) Conferences (6) Application for grant funding The workplace is located in Ulm.
You possess: (1) A university degree (Master's) in Chemistry or Physics with a completed doctorate (2) Experience in the electrochemical characterization of batteries and physicochemical analysis methods for Li/Na battery materials, ideally also including aging mechanisms (3) Experience in publishing in peer-reviewed journals (ideally high-impact journals) and in presenting at international conferences (4) Ideally, experience in applying for grant funding (5) Good MS Office skills and excellent written and spoken German and English complete your profile.
